About Nicholas
Nicholas Enrich is a former civil servant who served at USAID under four administrations. He led policy, programs, and planning for the agency’s Bureau for Global Health until January 2025, when he was named acting assistant administrator for global health.
In March 2025, he was placed on administrative leave after exposing the dismantling of USAID. His New York Times bestseller, Into the Wood Chipper, is his firsthand account of USAID’s final months.
A Place to Gather
Montessori Living is a 5-acre campus in Kensington with a nature-based Montessori school, residences, guest apartments, and the National Center for Montessori and Aging. Montessori is not only for young children. Its ideas of independence, purpose, and dignity hold across a whole life.
We believe human development and global development are the same work. What helps a child grow is what helps a community or a country grow. Maria Montessori saw education as the path to lasting peace.
